Watch BILLY JOEL’s Ex-Drummer Rip Through DEFTONES’ “My Own Summer (Shove It)” After Hearing It Once

Liberty DeVitto, best know for his extensive work with Billy Joel, is here to do his best Abe Cunningham impression for Drumeo. Watch as DeVitto hears the classic Deftones track “My Own Summer (Shove It)” once and then writes his own groovy drum parts. I mean seriously, listen to that opening groove with the ghost notes and off-kilter ride part and you tell me DeVitto doesn’t fucking rip.

Drumeo has a whole series of these videos, including ones where Luke Combs‘ drummer attempted a Gojira track and Josh Groban‘s drummer tore up a classic Primus track.
