Every month, Discogs publishes a list of the 25 most expensive items sold through their marketplace two months prior. The list has a few repeat offenders – old hardcore 7″s, original pressings of Norwegian black metal records, anything Taylor Swift does – but January 2024 had a really interesting one way up top.
Landing at the No. 3 spot on the January 2024 list was Ghost mastermind Tobias Forge‘s unreleased 2008 solo album Passiflora. The album was only burnt to a CDr (complete with the name and artist name written in marker), and was sold for an astounding $5,434.
Passiflora was created right around the time that Ghost started up, and never quite got a proper release. Two songs have made their way to the Internet over the years, though all 10 songs of Passiflora remain a mystery to the world’s ears. As for how the two songs sound, they’re very in line with Forge‘s previous project Magna Carta Cartel.
