Puddle Of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin is in some legal hot water after a traffic stop gone bad.
According to TMZ, Scantlin was originally pulled over for a traffic violation in Burbank, CA on Wednesday, July 31. Police then found that Scantlin had an active warrant for his arrest for allegedly having a weapon at an airport, at which point Scantlin refused to exit the vehicle. A crisis negotiator then got involved and when that didn’t work, spray was then used… and when that didn’t work, a SWAT team showed up to shoot non-lethal pepper balls at Scantlin.
Scantlin was taken a local hospital for treatment and charged for both the outstanding warrant and for resisting arrest. Scantlin is due in court on August 20.
Scantlin‘s legal troubles have unfortunately been numerous in recent years. Some incidents include being arrested on February 20, 2023 for trespassing on his former Hollywood home that was foreclosed on and refusing to leave. Scantlin was also arrested in 2017 for trying to board an airplane with a BB gun.
Wes Scantlin is the current frontman of Puddle Of Mudd. Scantlin founded the band in 1992 and has performed on all six of their studio albums.
