Seeing Jesus in Every Face

What if we saw everyone around us as if they were Jesus in disguise?

Think about it—how would we treat individuals if we believed each could be Jesus?

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40 NIV

We’d probably be a lot kinder, more respectful, and more loving. This concept really stuck with me, and I wanted to share my thoughts on it!

We’re made in God’s image and called to be Jesus’ hands and feet. This means we’re meant to live like Jesus in our everyday lives.

So, here’s a two-part mission: treat others as if they’re Jesus in disguise and act as Jesus would to those around us. It is a BOTH/AND mission. Can you imagine the impact this could have on our daily interactions?

Choosing to see others this way helps us recognize the worth and dignity of every person. It pushes us to be compassionate, patient, and generous. It challenges us to step out of our comfort zones and serve others selflessly, just as Jesus did.

By treating others like we would treat Jesus, we can create a ripple effect of kindness and grace that could change our communities and, ultimately, the world!

Living like Jesus means being a beacon of His love and grace. It means listening, helping, and encouraging those in need. It means standing up for justice and showing mercy.

When we do this, we become living examples of God’s love, drawing others closer to Him through our actions.

What if we all made a conscious effort to adopt this mindset in every interaction?

Think about how our workplaces, homes, and neighborhoods might transform if we treated each person as if they were Jesus in disguise and acted as His representatives. Conflicts might be resolved more empathetically, relationships strengthened, and communities united in love.

Treating people with love and respect enriches their lives and helps us fulfill our true calling.

So, here’s your challenge for the week:  each time you interact with someone, try to see Jesus in them, and be Jesus to them. You might be surprised by the changes you see!
