MIKAEL STANNE Explains The Delay In Announcing The Next THE HALO EFFECT Record

The Halo Effect – the band featuring Dark Tranquillity vocalist Mikael Stanne alongside former In Flames members Niclas Engelin, Peter Iwers, Daniel Svensson, and Jesper Strömblad – have been talking about the follow-up to their 2022 debut Days Of The Lost for about a year now. The good news is that it’s coming! The (hardly) bad news is that you’re gonna have wait a few more weeks for any information about it.

According to Stanne in an interview with Chaoszine, the new record was delayed so the label and band had the proper time to promote it. Which makes sense considering Stanne and Dark Tranquillity will release their next album Endtime Signals on August 16.

“It’s been done for a while. Yeah, I think that’s the hardest part for our labels, in order to squeeze stuff in and have room enough to promote and make sure that everybody knows about it,” said Stanne. “So, we pushed the release until early next year. But the singles are gonna start coming out after [Endtime Signals] is out. So that’s the idea.

“But it’s really cool. I’m incredibly proud of it. It sounds awesome. Niclas and Jesper have written some incredible songs that are very — like a different level of confidence, I think. Because the first album, we were just going, ‘Yeah, let’s see what can happen.’ It feels like a more confident band. Everybody knows exactly what to do now, so the album sounds awesome. And it’s gonna be cool. Yeah, it’s coming out early next year. And then we’re gonna tour in Europe as well after that. So busy times ahead, as always. But it’s cool. I think it’s gonna be announced in the end of September.”

The Halo Effect, Pain, and Bloodred Hourglass are looking toward the future with an early 2025 European tour. The tour will be in support of Pain‘s new record I Am and The Halo Effect‘s upcoming (currently unannounced) new record. Tickets are available here.
