Well this sucks – the legendary Saint Vitus in Brooklyn, NY seems to have closed for good.
Saint Vitus was shut down by the New York City Department Of Buildings (DOB) in the middle of a Mindforce show on February 16 and, despite hosting shows under the name Saint Vitus Presents at multiple venues across the city (and promising a potential reopening), never opened back up. Now according to longtime Saint Vitus videographer Frank Huang and Spotlights and Julie Christmas drummer Chris Enriquez, Saint Vitus is gone for good.
Saint Vitus has not issued a statement on the matter just yet, but photos posted by Huang show the grim reality. Thanks for everything, Saint Vitus. You’ll be missed. We’ll provide more information when it’s available.
