Mötley Crüe is now streaming their cover of Beastie Boys‘ classic track “(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!)” and it’s… a cover. It’s not bad, it’s not great, it’s mostly just there. The cover speeds things up a bit (perfect for the capabilities of John 5), but the vocals feel largely bored with the whole thing. Again, it’s not necessarily a bad cover – it’s just one you’re gonna get to the end of and question why it exists.
Anyway, stream it below. The cover is a part of a new EP called Cancelled due out on October 4 featuring the previously-released “Dogs Of War” alongside a new song called “Cancelled”.
“It was really great getting in the studio and working on some tracks together,” said Mötley Crüe of the EP. “What started out as a couple demo ideas turned into this EP produced by Bob Rock. We look forward to getting back into the studio again soon and writing more new music, as well.”
