No charges will be filed against two state police troopers involved in a deadly shooting in Rochester, according to the New Hampshire attorney general’s office.

The shooting happened March 8 on Gooseberry Circle.

At that time, police had been searching for Joseph Russell for his alleged role in car thefts in Rochester and Lebanon, Maine.

According to the attorney general’s office, a New Hampshire State Police trooper and sergeant were legally justified to use deadly force because Russell aimed a loaded gun at law enforcement officers.
