Fantasy Ballers: Three ‘second-chance’ options for Week 14

All of these players have a chance to put up big fantasy numbers against a team they’ve already faced. Start them with confidence in Week 14.

James Conner (RB) Arizona Cardinals

After signing a two-year, $19M contract extension on Saturday, Conner ran for 68 yards on 17 carries in a 23-22 loss to the Vikings on Sunday. Not the greatest stat line, but the 29-year-old running back still ranks 15th among running backs with 171.4 fantasy points on the season.

Conner set career marks with 208 carries and 1,040 yards last season and is currently on pace to beat those numbers in 2024. His 53 first-down runs are fourth-most in the NFL, making him one of the league’s best three-down backs.

That said, Conner scored just 9.9 fantasy points after running for a season-low eight yards on seven carries when the Cardinals met the Seahawks in Week 12. However, he also caught five passes for 41 yards, his second-best receiving total of the year.

This week he’ll face the Seahawks once again, but this time at home where he’s averaged 1.6 more yards per carry and 5.2 more yards per reception. With running backs like Derrick Henry, Brian Robinson and Jonathan Taylor sitting idle on byes, Conner could easily finish the week as a top-five running back.

Jerry Jeudy (WR) Cleveland Browns

Wide receivers like Nico Collins, Terry McLaurin and Zay Flowers are on byes in Week 14, giving Jeudy added value. The veteran wide receiver has been on a tear since Jameis Winston took over as the team’s starting quarterback and is currently tied with the Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb as the league’s fifth-leading receiver with 880 yards.
