New Hampshire weekend weather: Severe thunderstorm warning issued

MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Severe thunderstorm warnings that were issued for parts of New Hampshire have expired but a watch remains in place.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Strafford, Belknap, Merrimack and Carroll counties until 6:15 p.m. but it has expired.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Belknap, Cheshire, Hillsborough, Sullivan, Strafford, Rockingham and Merrimack counties until 9 p.m. Sunday.

Severe weather is possible for some, including the risk for strong wind gusts and hail.

Damaging wind gusts and hail will be possible in the strongest storms, and any storm that develops could produce torrential downpours.

Storms should wrap up in the evening, clearing the coast after 7 p.m. with drier conditions overnight.

WORK WEEK CHANGES

Behind this system, it turns cooler and less humid Sunday night into Monday.

Sunny skies and comfortable air returns for early in the week. Highs will be in the 70s with low humidity.

Heat and humidity will start to build again late in the week, with temperatures back near 90 degrees Thursday and Friday.
