I recently shared a powerful illustration that has impacted me for years: Imagine yourself as a living house. God begins by fixing what’s broken, leaky roofs, faulty drains, things you expected.
Then He starts tearing down walls, adding towers, and building entirely new wings. Suddenly, this radical demolition hurts.
All the new construction can be confusing. Slowly, you realize He’s not just renovating your little cottage. He’s building a palace more lavish than you ever imagined, a place fit for Him to dwell.
That message is at the heart of my latest episode on The Alita Reynolds Show: Don’t Settle for the Cottage – Let God Build the Palace.
God never intended for us to settle for just “good enough.” He’s not interested in simply cleaning us up on the surface or just fixing little maintenance items. He desires full transformation. And while that process can feel painful and unfamiliar, it is always purposeful. His vision for your life is greater than what you can see right now.
In this episode, I walk through five key takeaways from this beautiful metaphor and share how we can fully surrender every room of our lives to the Master Builder.
Are there rooms in your heart where you’re still trying to maintain control?
Are you asking for a quick renovation when God wants total reconstruction?
If you haven’t already, I encourage you to take a quiet moment to watch or listen to the full episode. You’ll be reminded that you are not alone in this process, and our Women of Faith community is walking this journey with you, one surrendered step at a time.
Let’s stop settling for the cottage. Let’s allow God to build the palace He’s designed for each of us.
I’m wildly cheering you!
Alita
