It’s definitely complicated. THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA has historically been regarded as a lesser work in the Tennessee Williams canon. Even in 1961 it opened to mixed reviews on Broadway. Now, equally, and perhaps especially, you could say it’s just as challenging as ever to stage.
