REVIEWS

Starting with its full list of “isms,” THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA is, shockingly, just as controversial today as it possibly was at its debut.  But Boston Court, Pasadena, has taken on this difficult play with as much skill, care and gusto as they could muster. READ THE REVIEW.

FASHION VIDEO OF THE WEEK

MUSIC FEATURE

RecallingThe Cars and Kate Bush, alternative pop artist Celeste Corsano‘s single ‘Stuck’ is part of a trail of stunning new releases. A tender composition that explores being caught in the inescapable grip of an emotional impasse, Corsano masterfully conveys the struggle of a mind wrestling with an unyielding heart, creating an intimate space where raw emotion takes center-stage. The animated video reflects this perfectly through the journey of a ball cutting loose from his existing reality and his loss of direction to find a new path.

In Case You Missed This…

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) celebrated last month’s landmark court ruling striking down the NEA’s “gender ideology” compliance requirement. The ruling is a sweeping victory for all NEA applicants, but it goes further for the TCG community:

  • All applicants are now protectedfrom the erased NEA policy.
  • TCG members gain added safeguards against similar restrictions in future grant cycles.
  • A legal precedent is set to challenge viewpoint-based restrictions that chill artistic expression.

This matters deeply to the theatre field. When policies attempt to silence stories, theatres across the country feel the impact. TCG joined this case to defend their members’ right to tell the full breadth of their stories and this ruling affirms that commitment.

“This ruling is a significant victory for the entire theatre field and for artistic freedom nationwide,” said Emilya Cachapero, Co-Executive Director at TCG. “By striking down the NEA’s unlawful policy, the court has ensured that every applicant can apply for funding with greater protection for the stories they choose to tell.”
