The 2026 Daytime Emmys are October 30, & Young & the Restless has two women up for Supporting Actress. One of them is Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), & if anyone has earned it, it’s her.
Head writer Josh Griffith has put Mariah through the wringer. Whatever he throws at her, Camryn Grimes catches it & makes it work. Let’s review.
Most actors get one of these storylines in a career. Mariah got all of them, back to back.
As if that weren’t enough, her wife cheated on her. Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) hooked up with Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). Daniel, the unemployed guy strumming his guitar in Chancellor Park. The town hobo.
Mariah survived Ian & a kidnapping, & her reward is getting cheated on for the town hobo. Somebody get this woman a vacation, & maybe a black knit hat that doesn’t come with a kidnapping attached.
She’s up against her own castmate, Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), which makes this one tough. I’ll save my Traci feelings for #1. I will say this: Young & the Restless has kidnapped plenty of people, but nobody sold it like Mariah. If she walks away with the Emmy, she earned every second of it.
Tomorrow, #5: Michael Graziadei as Daniel Romalotti.
Has Mariah earned this Emmy? It’s not my first day watching Y&R & it isn’t yours either. What’s your take?
