The Word Alive<\/a><\/strong> and guitarist Zack Hansen<\/strong> have split over accusations of domestic abuse.<\/p>\n It all started on May 30 when Hansen<\/strong> simply stated he was stepping away from the band to handle some personal issues. At the time, Hansen<\/strong> wrote: “As of today \u2014 with respect to my family, friends and fans I will be stepping away from The Word Alive<\/a><\/strong> to handle some personal issues and to take the time necessary to focus on myself. I know in the long run this is what’s best for me and TWA<\/a><\/strong>. I ask for your patience, understanding and privacy at this time. Thank you for all of the support.”<\/p>\n Footage then surfaced<\/a> of the alleged domestic abuse by Hansen<\/strong> on Twitter, though that video has since been limited to who can see it. The Word Alive<\/a><\/strong> addressed the situation on May 31, saying they had actually fired Hansen<\/strong> over the situation \u2013 not that he had chosen to step away.<\/p>\n “To The Word Alive<\/a><\/strong> family: As soon as we were made aware of the situation directed towards our guitarist, Zack<\/strong>, we immediately asked him to step away from the band. We do not condone any domestic abuse whatsoever.”<\/p>\n As of now, The Word Alive<\/a><\/strong> is still slated to open for Asking Alexandria<\/a><\/strong> this September.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
