Metallica<\/a><\/strong> played the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto on December 9, 1986 and it might’ve been their fastest show ever. I mean seriously, this thing is just furious. For reference, the band shaves a solid 40-ish seconds off their usually eight-plus minute “Master Of Puppets”. If you watch closely, you can even see Hetfield<\/strong>‘s right hand smoking as it reaches terminal velocity!<\/p>\n

This show is also about three months after the death of Cliff Burton<\/strong>, and one of Metallica<\/a><\/strong>‘s first shows with Jason Newsted<\/strong>. So mentally I’m sure this was a rough one for the group.<\/p>\n
