Max Cavalera<\/strong> and Sepultura<\/a><\/strong> parted ways in 1996. Cavalera<\/strong> was replaced by Derrick Green<\/strong> in 1998, with both parties enjoying success in the rock and metal world for years to come. Then in December 2023, Sepultura<\/a><\/strong> announced they’d embark on a world tour and promptly end the band\u2026 which of course has everyone wondering if Max Cavalera<\/strong> and Sepultura<\/a><\/strong> could possibly get back together, even for a show.<\/p>\n In an interview with Rock Hard Greece<\/em>, Cavalera<\/strong> said he’s open to it but hasn’t been approached. Cavalera<\/strong> also touched on some comments made by Sepultura<\/a><\/strong> guitarist Andreas Kisser<\/strong> in 2023 \u2013 namely his answer about if there’d ever be any semblance of a reunion: “No, why would we do that? To ruin the party?”<\/a><\/p>\n “I have not [been approached]. In fact, I think I saw one thing Andreas<\/strong>, of course said, like, ‘Why are we gonna ask them? They’re gonna spoil the party,’ which is very typical of Andreas<\/strong> to say that,” said Cavalera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n “I don’t know. I think I’m gonna let things happen the way they’re gonna happen. I’m not gonna force anything, and if there comes a time where we feel that we should make a reunion \u2014 okay, fine, as long as we do it the right way. Just like with these re-recordings [of early Sepultura<\/a><\/strong> albums]. I think we made them the right way \u2014 honest, proper, from the heart.”<\/p>\n He continued: “So right now I’m not thinking about that [a reunion]. I know they announced the end of the band. I don’t understand this idea. I don’t know if they were forced to do it, or if it’s a mutual decision of just stop playing ’cause you don’t wanna do it anymore. I don’t know. I myself cannot live without music. I need to play live. It’s like the air I breathe.<\/p>\n So who knows. Maybe when Sepultura<\/a><\/strong> ends, it’ll just be this specific iteration and the Cavalera<\/strong> brothers could form a new version?<\/p>\n \n
