The first volume of the series was<br \/>\na new translation of Wojty\u0142a&#8217;s 1969 book <em>Person and Act<\/em>,<br \/>\nalong with related essays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In <em>Person and Act<\/em> Wojty\u0142a set forth<br \/>\nthe foundation of his blend of phenomenology, Thomism and<br \/>\npersonalism, a foundation underlying much of his other<br \/>\nphilosophical and theological writing. The first English<br \/>\ntranslation is generally considered to be quite inaccurate, and,<br \/>\ncrucially, removed the Latin terms by which Wojty\u0142a refers to the<br \/>\nThomistic and scholastic tradition, leading to a false impression<br \/>\nthat Wojty\u0142a was much more of a pure phenomenologist and less of a<br \/>\nThomist than he really was.
