Avenged Sevenfold<\/a><\/strong> has two major anniversaries coming up in 2025 \u2013 City Of Evil<\/em> is turning 20 years old and Nightmare<\/em> is turning 15. While the band doesn’t seem keen on spending the whole year celebrating the albums, guitarist Zacky Vengeance<\/strong> said in an interview with NME<\/a><\/em> that Avenged Sevenfold<\/a><\/strong> is definitely going to do something to commemorate the birthdays. <\/p>\n “Absolutely. I think those albums are really monumental and fans have grown with them,” said Vengeance<\/strong>. “They’ve meant a certain thing to people at a certain place in their life, so I think it’s important that we do something.<\/p>\n “I never want to be a nostalgia act. I’ve always wanted to be as proud of whatever we put out today as I was when we put out those albums, but I’m totally cool with celebrating those albums because it was such a great place and time. Plus it’s actually fun to relive and play those songs and get those reactions.<\/p>\n “To bank our entire career off past successes, we can’t do it, but we’ll definitely do something to celebrate those albums though. For us, the most exciting thing about looking back is recalling where our heads were at when we were young and writing them. Remembering that they’re part of who we are.”<\/p>\n Both City Of Evil<\/em> and Nightmare<\/em> have gone Platinum in the United States (meaning they’ve sold over 1 million copies each). Nightmare<\/em> was also Avenged Sevenfold<\/a><\/strong>‘s first album without drummer The Rev<\/em>, who died in 2009. Dream Theater<\/a><\/strong> drummer Mike Portnoy<\/strong> played on Nightmare<\/em>, but never joined the band full time.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
