If you were one of those who absolutely loved Volbeat<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s last album (I did), you\u2019ll be pleased to know that according to main man Michael Poulsen<\/strong>, the follow-up to Servant Of The Mind<\/a><\/em> is on track for a 2025 release.<\/p>\n Poulsen<\/strong> recently shared a video message, in which he spoke about the songwriting process for the record: “I’m home. I’m dusting off the new Volbeat<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> songs. All the songs have been written for the next album. I’m almost done with the lyrics. Volbeat<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> is gonna enter the studio later this year. There’s gonna be a new Volbeat<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> record out next year. We’re gonna tour Europe, the U.S. \u2014 big tour. So, I can’t wait to go out with my Volbeat<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> brothers again and see the Volbeat<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> fans out there.”<\/p>\n Last October, Poulsen<\/strong> underwent a significant throat surgery. He mentioned this procedure during an interview with Paltrocast<\/em> host Darren Paltrowitz<\/strong>. Poulsen<\/strong> explained how Volbeat<\/a><\/strong> <\/strong>wouldn\u2019t tour this year, yet he will be able to hit the road with his death metal project Asinhell.<\/strong><\/p>\n “It’s an operation I’ve been through before. This one is just a little bit bigger and it’s gonna take some time to get back in vocal shape. So, Volbeat<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> is not playing in 2024. I’ll use a lot of time to get my voice back after the operation. But at the same time, I will actually be writing a new Volbeat<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> album. So hopefully later in 2024, I can put down the vocals for the next Volbeat<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> album. But in the meantime, I will go out and play shows with Asinhell<\/a><\/strong>.”<\/p>\n When asked if he might need to adjust his singing technique and incorporate vocal warmdowns after performances, Michael<\/strong> commented: “I do warm up before a show, but there’s no way I’m gonna use my voice after a show. I’m very optimistic about the whole thing. As I said, I tried before and I got good people around me. I’ve got a great coach in Melissa Cross<\/strong> who has been helping out a lot of singers. She will help me out again to get my voice back in shape after the operation. So, I like to stay positive, and I’m pretty sure everything’s going to be all right.”<\/p>\n
