Current Iron Maiden<\/a><\/strong> vocalist Bruce Dickinson<\/strong> and former Iron Maiden<\/a><\/strong> vocalist Paul Di’Anno<\/strong> finally met one another over the weekend in Zagreb, Croatia!<\/p>\n Dickinson<\/strong> was in the Croatian capital promoting his new solo album The Mandrake Project<\/em> and Di’Anno<\/strong> was doing the same for his new project, Paul Di’Annos’ Warhorse<\/strong><\/strong>. The news came from Di’Anno<\/strong>‘s manager Stjepan Juras<\/strong>, who couldn’t be more stoked to bring together two legendary frontmen.<\/p>\n “When we thought that nothing could surprise us anymore in the heavy metal world, tonight’s ‘miracle’ in Zagreb proved us all wrong,” wrote Juras<\/strong>.<\/p>\n “Paul Di’Anno<\/strong> and Bruce Dickinson<\/strong> met for the first time and had a friendly chat right in Zagreb. By coincidence, Bruce<\/strong> is promoting his new album The Mandrake Project<\/em> in Zagreb on tour on July 13, and on the same day, after Bruce<\/strong>‘s show, Paul Di’Anno<\/strong> had a live promotion and signing session for his first album with the Paul Di’Annos’ Warhorse<\/strong> project.<\/p>\n “This was an exceptional opportunity for the two icons of heavy metal music and the legendary singers of the band Iron Maiden<\/a><\/strong> to meet for the first time after almost half a century. This is an exceptional night for the entire Iron Maiden<\/a><\/strong> community and for metal fans around the world, because it shows that Iron Maiden<\/a><\/strong> and everyone who was in that band, is one big family.”<\/p>\n For those not up on their Iron Maiden<\/a><\/strong> history, Paul Di’Anno<\/strong> fronted the band between 1978 and 1981, and performed on both the band’s 1980 self-titled debut album and Killers<\/em> from 1981. Iron Maiden<\/a><\/strong> and Di’Anno<\/strong> parted ways and replaced him with now-frontman Bruce Dickinson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n It should be noted that Di’Anno<\/strong> wasn’t Iron Maiden<\/a><\/strong>‘s founding vocalist \u2013 technically that belongs to the band’s first and very short-lived vocalist Paul Day<\/strong>, who was fired by founder bassist Steve Harris <\/strong>for lacking charisma.<\/p>\n \n
