Fear Factory<\/a><\/strong>‘s 2005 album Transgression<\/em> was an interesting one. It was the band’s second effort without guitarist Dino Cazares<\/strong> and features guest spots from both Faith No More<\/a><\/strong> bassist Billy Gould<\/strong> and Lamb Of God<\/a><\/strong> guitarist Mark Morton<\/strong>, the latter of which co-wrote the single “New Promise”. Transgression<\/em> (and the Cazares<\/strong>-less Archetype) remain off streaming services, which probably doesn’t bother Cazares<\/strong> given his feelings on the record.<\/p>\n In a response to a fan on Twitter<\/em>, Cazares<\/strong> made his opinion on Transgression<\/em> well known by comparing it to the oft-maligned St. Anger<\/em>.<\/p>\n “I sure one of u is going to cry that I said this but here it goes,” said Cazares<\/strong>. “I was never into the album Transgression<\/em> it reminded me of Metallica<\/a><\/strong>‘s 2003 album St. Anger<\/em>. The song ‘Transgression’ reminded me of the song ‘Frantic’ Riffs ,played high on the fret with the low string.”<\/p>\n Possible hot take, but I’d much rather listen to St. Anger<\/em> than Transgression<\/em>. The Cazares-less years of Fear Factory<\/a><\/strong> just felt lost \u2013 at least St. Anger<\/em> had a fire behind it. As for any reissues of Archetype<\/em> or Transgression<\/em>, Cazares<\/strong> noted he doesn’t have the rights to ’em.<\/p>\n “I do not own any rights to Archetype<\/em> or Transgression<\/em> so that means I can not do anything like add them to Spotify or re-release them,” said Cazares<\/strong>. “Please share this so I don’t have to keep answering this question”<\/p>\n Coal Chamber<\/a><\/strong>, Fear Factory<\/a><\/strong>, Twiztid<\/a><\/strong>, Wednesday 13<\/a><\/strong> performing Murderdolls<\/a><\/strong> material, and Black Satellite<\/strong> will hit the road this summer where Fear Factory<\/a><\/strong> will promptly ignore their Transgression<\/em> material.
