{"id":228889,"date":"2024-07-15T22:31:27","date_gmt":"2024-07-15T22:31:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newhampshiredigitalnews.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/15\/metallicas-black-album-just-spent-its-750th-week-on-the-billboard-200-chart-since-its-release\/"},"modified":"2024-07-15T22:31:27","modified_gmt":"2024-07-15T22:31:27","slug":"metallicas-black-album-just-spent-its-750th-week-on-the-billboard-200-chart-since-its-release","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newhampshiredigitalnews.com\/index.php\/2024\/07\/15\/metallicas-black-album-just-spent-its-750th-week-on-the-billboard-200-chart-since-its-release\/","title":{"rendered":"METALLICA&#8217;s Black Album Just Spent Its 750th Week On The Billboard 200 Chart Since Its Release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/metallica\">Metallica<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s 1991 smash hit self-titled album, better known as the <em>Black Album<\/em> by most fans, has officially spent 750 total weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report by <em><a href=\"https:\/\/blabbermouth.net\/news\/metallicas-black-album-has-now-spent-750-weeks-on-billboard-200-chart\">Blabbermouth<\/a><\/em>, the <em>Black Album<\/em> is currently sitting at No. 178 this week and is the fourth album ever to achieve 750 total weeks on the chart \u2013 <em>The Dark Side Of The Moon<\/em> by <strong>Pink Floyd<\/strong>, <strong>Bob Marley And The Wailers<\/strong>&#8216; 1984 compilation <em>Legend<\/em>, and <strong>Journey<\/strong>&#8216;s 1988 compilation <em>Greatest Hits<\/em> are the other three.<\/p>\n<p>This shouldn&#8217;t be to surprising to anyone considering the <em>Black Album<\/em> is the best-selling album since the Nielsen SoundScan era began on March 1, 1991. The <em>Black Album<\/em> has <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_best-selling_albums_in_the_United_States_of_the_Nielsen_SoundScan_era\">sold over 17 million copies<\/a> and has been a point of great contention for Metallica fans ever since \u2013 though those sales numbers clearly portray a record that&#8217;s doing just fine despite the &#8220;THEY&#8217;RE NOT THRASH ANYMORE!&#8221; haters.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/metallica\">Metallica<\/a><\/strong> released their reissue of the<em> Black Album<\/em> on September 10, 2021 which catapulted it right back onto the charts, aiding in the above record. The album has landed at the No. 9 spot on the Billboard 200 chart the week after its reissue, making it the first time the album has cracked the Top 10 since August 1992.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>Billboard<\/em>, <em>The Black Album <\/em>sold 29,000 copies at the time of its reissue, and had an additional 8,000 combined sales thanks to streaming numbers. Five singles also reached the <em>Billboard <\/em>Hot 100 \u2013 &#8220;Enter Sandman&#8221;, &#8220;The Unforgiven&#8221;, &#8220;Nothing Else Matters&#8221;, &#8220;Where I May Roam&#8221;, and &#8220;Sad But True&#8221;. The first three songs are currently sitting pretty in the top 40.<\/p>\n<p><em>Billboard<\/em> states &#8220;Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid-slash-subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.&#8221;\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"zox-post-body left zoxrel zox100\">\n<h5>Want More Metal?
