Van Halen<\/a><\/strong>‘s 1998 album Van Halen III<\/em> isn’t exactly regarded as a shining gem of the band’s discography. Van Halen III<\/em> is the only Van Halen<\/a><\/strong> record to feature Extreme<\/a><\/strong> lead vocalist Gary Cherone<\/strong>, is the final Van Halen<\/a><\/strong> album to feature bassist Michael Anthony<\/strong>, and is the band’s longest record at 65 minutes. Van Halen III<\/em> has been called an Eddie Van Halen<\/strong> solo album in the past and wasn’t exactly a mainstay for live shows.<\/p>\n But is Van Halen III<\/em> really that bad? The short answer is no. The long answer is a totally re-edited version by musician Kevin Brown<\/strong> and podcaster Scott Monroe<\/strong>, who recently started his own podcast named Regading Van Halen 3<\/em>. The edited version trims Van Halen III<\/em> down to 41 minutes and 10 tracks, focusing on what Monroe<\/strong> told Van Halen News Desk<\/a><\/em> “more tightly focused on its strengths.”<\/p>\n Monroe<\/strong> added: “This in no way is intended to criticize Eddie<\/strong> or suggest we know better. I came at this from a place of love\u2026 This exercise is about re-imagining how the music could have been further molded\u2026 and perhaps made more accessible to the Van Halen<\/a><\/strong> fanbase.”<\/p>\n Stream it below!
