The band is now streaming their single &#8220;Fuck What You Heard&#8221; and it&#8217;s exactly the American ass kickin&#8217; you could use on this fine Friday. &#8220;Fuck What You Heard&#8221; follows <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/body-count\">Body Count<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s previous single &#8220;Psychopath&#8221; featuring <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/fit-for-an-autopsy\">Fit For An Autopsy<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Joseph Badolato<\/strong>, which you can <a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/new-music\/body-count-recruits-fit-for-an-autopsys-joe-badolato-for-new-single-psychopath\">check out right here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"BODY COUNT \u2013 F*** What You Heard (VISUALIZER VIDEO)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QjYDy5ON-do?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>Ice-T<\/strong> also doles out some really interesting insight on songwriting and having the courage to put out an album during a 2022 interview with <strong>Darren Paltrowitz<\/strong> of the <em>Paltrocast<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Making albums, it&#8217;s kind of scary. It&#8217;s kind of like, how do I explain it\u2026 it&#8217;s like okay, you make an apple pie. Everybody likes the apple pie and it sells a lot. So now you got to make another pie, but it can&#8217;t be apple. It&#8217;s got to be just as good as the apple one, so you make a cherry apple. It sells just as good as the apple and everybody loves it. Now you gotta make another one but it can&#8217;t be apple and it can&#8217;t be cherry apple, so you make a blueberry apple.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So now it&#8217;s like, I&#8217;m ran out of flavors. Like, you&#8217;re scared to make the lime pie so you&#8217;re like, &#8216;fuck it.&#8217; If you do the apple again they say &#8216;oh, you&#8217;re just [doing the same thing again].&#8217; Now you&#8217;re at a place where\u2026 and then also if the last album was a hit, do you want to make another record and it not be a hit? Or do you want to retire like <strong>Floyd Mayweather<\/strong> just have a bunch of albums that all hit and tour off of them indefinitely? Like, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/kiss\">Kiss<\/a><\/strong> doesn&#8217;t need a new record.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ice-T<\/strong> also talks a little about his approach to songwriting, basically saying if a song seems like it sucks then it&#8217;s going in the trash (or the good stuff is getting repurposed). &#8220;Don&#8217;t for a second think the stress is off. I&#8217;m just more picky like, I&#8217;m just more surgical. Let&#8217;s say that. It&#8217;s more surgical. I&#8217;m quick. I&#8217;ll delete songs as we&#8217;re making them. I don&#8217;t need to make 20 songs.&#8221; Or as <strong>Ice-T<\/strong> puts it later on in terms of work ethic with any musician, &#8220;make music so good I don&#8217;t have to sing on it.
