Ever since Ghost<\/a><\/strong> dropped Opus Eponymous<\/em> in 2010, people have been making the joke that the band sounds like music from the classic cartoon Scooby Doo<\/em>. So Ghost<\/a><\/strong> finally said “fuck it” and just made the joke themselves with the new animated music video for “Mary On A Cross”. It’s fantastic to see the band be this self-aware while also rolling out a genuinely fun music video (directed by DurtySean<\/strong>).<\/p>\n Though if you saw Ghost<\/a><\/strong>‘s mega-popular new movie Rite Here Rite Now<\/em>, this music video is old news to you. And you probably did, because Rite Here Rite Now<\/em> was really damn popular.<\/p>\n Just how popular was Rite Here Rite Now<\/em>? Well, it entered the Top 10 of the North American box office with a cumulative total gross of $2.65 million, making it the highest-grossing hard rock cinema event ever in North America.<\/p>\n To break that North American record down a little:<\/p>\n Rite Here Rite Now<\/em> combines never-before-seen 2023 concert footage from Ghost<\/a><\/strong>‘s two sold-out shows at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, with a narrative story that picks up plot threads from the band’s long-running Chapters series. Rite Here Rite Now<\/em> was directed by Ghost<\/a><\/strong>‘s Tobias Forge<\/strong> and Alex Ross Perry<\/strong>. The soundtrack to Rite Here Rite Now<\/em> will be released via Loma Vista Recordings, which you can order right here (rite here?)<\/a>.<\/p>\n “Over a decade ago when Ghost<\/a><\/strong> got signed to Loma Vista, Tom Whalley<\/strong> (owner and CEO) asked what the story of the band was,” said Forge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n “He felt telling a story was vital in order to get new fans engaged. I said that because we were a new ‘baby’ band and more importantly we were an ANONYMOUS baby band, there wasn’t really a compelling story to tell. Not yet anyway. But I told him that if he wanted a story, I could come up with one. This film is the fruit of that conversation.”<\/p>\n Perry<\/strong> added: “Collaborating with Tobias<\/strong> to expand the saga of Ghost<\/a><\/strong> into a feature film has been a wicked delight. This movie allowed us to be inspired by everything from silent horror to The Great Rock n’ Roll Swindle<\/em>, from Ralph Bakshi<\/em> to KISS<\/a><\/strong> Alive II<\/em>. The influences were many, but above all, the ultimate goal was to make a one-of-a-kind feast not only for Ghost<\/a><\/strong> fans, but all lovers of the cinematic alchemy between rock spectacle and spooky delights.”<\/p>\n Rite Here Rite Now<\/em> was produced by Popecorn Cinematic Pictures. Producers include Kristen Mulderig<\/strong>, Rick Sales<\/strong>, Craig Butta<\/strong>, and Jonas \u00c5kerlund<\/strong>.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
