Alice In Chains<\/a><\/strong> guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell<\/a><\/strong>, has announced the arrival of hi new solo album I Want Blood,<\/em>\u00a0dropping this October 18 via Double J Music.<\/p>\n “This record is a\u00a0serious\u00a0piece of work. It’s a motherfucker,” says Cantrell<\/a><\/strong>. “It’s hard, no doubt, and completely unlike\u00a0Brighten<\/em>. And that’s what you want, to end up in a different place. There’s a confidence to this album. I think it’s some of my best songwriting and playing, and certainly some of my best singing.”<\/p>\n The album’s first taste comes via the first single “Vilified\u201d, of which Cantrell<\/a><\/strong> says: “‘Vilified’ travels a lot of places in just four and a half minutes. It’s got a ferocity and really aggressive vibe to it.”<\/p>\n I Want Blood <\/em>features contributions from bass heavyweights Duff McKagan<\/strong> (Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a><\/strong>) and Robert Trujillo<\/strong> (Metallica<\/a><\/strong>), drummers Gil Sharone<\/strong> (Team Sleep<\/strong>, Stolen Babies<\/strong>) and Mike Bordin<\/strong> (Faith No More<\/a><\/strong>), and backing vocals from Lola Colette<\/strong> and Greg Puciato<\/strong> (Better Lovers<\/strong>, ex-Dillinger Escape Plan<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n Pre-orders are available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n
