Oceans Of Slumber<\/a><\/strong> is now streaming their darker take on Chris Isaak<\/strong>‘s 1989 hit “Wicked Game”. Not that the original was a joyous occasion, but Oceans Of Slumber<\/a><\/strong>‘s take on the track is definitely doomier than Isaak<\/strong>‘s original.<\/p>\n “I’m sure we’ll cover ‘Crying’ [by Roy Orbison<\/strong>] at some point down the line,” said Oceans Of Slumber<\/a><\/strong> vocalist Cammie Beverly<\/strong>. “But in the end, this album called for something more unexpected.”<\/p>\n On choosing the song, Oceans Of Slumber<\/a><\/strong> drummer Dobber Beverly<\/strong> said: “When we were in Columbia, I heard a club remix of ‘Wicked Game’ while out at a restaurant. It was so bad that I needed to go and make things right in my head.”<\/p>\n “We’ve taken the raw and heavier direction of our last two albums and elevated it to the scale of a blockbuster IMAX movie,” he added. “Our cover of ‘Wicked Game’ is the song that plays over the end credits.”<\/p>\n Oceans Of Slumber<\/a><\/strong>‘s new album Where Gods Fear To Speak<\/em> comes out September 13.
