Human Impact<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 the band featuring Chris Spencer<\/strong> (Unsane<\/a><\/strong>), Jim Coleman<\/strong> (Cop Shoot Cop<\/strong>), Eric Cooper<\/strong> (Made Out of Babies<\/strong>, Bad Powers<\/strong>), and Jon Syverson<\/strong> (Daughters<\/a><\/strong>) \u2013 is now streaming their relentless new single “Hold On”. Clocking in at over six minutes of nothing of pummeling riffs, you might need to lie down after this one.<\/p>\n “‘Hold On’ is an expression of resistance in the face of a system that’s using convenience and expediency to pry its way into a position of control,” said Spencer<\/strong> of the single.<\/p>\n Human Impact<\/a><\/strong> will release their new record Gone Dark<\/em> on October 4. Gone Dark<\/em> was recorded by Andrew Schneider<\/strong> (Ken Mode<\/a><\/strong>, Cave In<\/a><\/strong>) in Austin’s Cedar Creek Studio alongside Spencer<\/strong> and Coleman<\/strong>. Gone Dark<\/em> was mixed by Schneider<\/strong> and mastered by Carl Saff<\/strong>. Pre-orders are available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n On the album itself, Spencer<\/strong> offered: “It’s more of a band instead of me and Jim writing stuff and bringing it in. We were all looking to go with something more raw and aggressive than the previous releases. There was a real desire to capture more of what the live performances had been like.<\/p>\n “With this one, we had plenty of time to develop a full, cohesive album joining songs together with interstitial pieces more like a live performance would be. With Gone Dark<\/em> we have arrived at a place where we fully understand who we are as a band, so it’s a bit more focused and relentless.”<\/p>\n \n
