Storm Corrosion<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 the band featuring Opeth<\/a><\/strong>‘s Mikael \u00c5kerfeldt<\/strong> and Porcupine Tree<\/a><\/strong>‘s Steven Wilson<\/strong> \u2013 released their sole self-titled album in 2012. While there’s been talk of a follow-up over the past decade, nothing concrete has ever materialized. So while you wait, why not enjoy this reissue?<\/p>\n Storm Corrosion<\/em> will be reissued by Kscope on September 27 on CD, vinyl, and Blu-ray featuring a new Dolby Atmos mix of the original album plus a high-resolution stereo mix, a 5.1 DTS-HD Surround Sound mix, and instrumental mixes.<\/p>\n The new version of Storm Corrosion<\/em> also features a live version of “Drag Ropes” played at London’s Royal Albert Hall in September 2015 when \u00c5kerfeldt<\/strong> got on stage with Wilson<\/strong>‘s solo band. This is the only song to have ever been played by Storm Corrosion<\/a><\/strong>, so it’s a pretty cool addition! Pre-orders are available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n As for any new Storm Corrosion<\/a><\/strong>, \u00c5kerfeldt<\/strong> recently said in an interview with Classic Rock<\/em>: “Me and Steve<\/strong> have been talking about that. I went to see Steven<\/strong> in London to talk and to drink [laughs]. There is a reissue of that album coming out, and Steven<\/strong> has done a new Atmos mix. So I pitched the idea of a possible next record from Storm Corrosion<\/a><\/strong>. He didn’t really buy into my suggestion. That’s a shame.<\/p>\n \u00c5kerfeldt<\/strong> continued: “Steve<\/strong> doesn’t want to send music [over the internet]. He prefers us to make it together in the same room. But I’ll bring it up again, and I’m sure we’ll do something new. Should it happen, I would like us to do a requiem, something completely overblown.”<\/p>\n \n
