There was assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump<\/strong>‘s life during a rally near Butler, PA on July 13. That same night, Tenacious D<\/a><\/strong> was playing a show in Sydney, Australia which was also vocalist and guitarist Kyle Gass<\/strong>‘ 64th<\/sup> birthday. When asked to make a wish for his birthday, Gass<\/strong> responded: “Don’t miss Trump next time.”<\/p>\n Shortly after the show, Tenacious D<\/a><\/strong> vocalist and guitarist Jack Black<\/strong> issued a statement saying he was blindsided by the comment<\/a>, and doesn’t feel right continuing their tour or any creative endeavors.<\/p>\n Gass<\/strong> has since responded to the backlash on his Instagram, saying in a statement: “The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake. I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement. I profoundly apologize to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused.”<\/p>\n So yeah, the closest we’re getting to Tenacious D<\/a><\/strong> live is Foo Fighters<\/a><\/strong> playing a partial cover of “Tribute” during an August 3 show at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, CO. And who better to pay tribute (pun intended) to Tenacious D<\/a><\/strong> than Foo Fighters<\/strong> frontman Dave Grohl<\/strong>? Grohl<\/strong> played guitar and drums on Tenacious D<\/a><\/strong>‘s 2001 self-titled debut album, as well as drummed on The Pick Of Destiny<\/em> and even played Satan<\/strong> in the movie itself.\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
