Others pioneer a style of music, then break up before the scene catches on.<\/p>\n<p>These highly influential bands didn&#8217;t all receive their moment in the sun, but their work has proven to be unforgettable. Do you agree that these bands broke up way too soon?<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/kyuss\">Kyuss<\/a><\/strong> was like a vivarium for talented motherfuckers. In just four years, the desert rock stoners released four underground classic albums, including the chronically awesome <em>Blues for the Red Sun<\/em>. Truly one of the greatest guitar tones ever caught on tape, by the way. Without the dissolution of <strong>Kyuss<\/strong> in 1995 we\u2019d never have gotten <strong>Queens of the Stone Age<\/strong>, but the California band broke up right before the stoner metal revival of the late \u201890s and early 2000s. Imagine getting to see <strong>Kyuss<\/strong> tour with <strong>Electric Wizard<\/strong> during their <em>Dopethrone<\/em> era.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Green Machine\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RhaiAEvEiFI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/siege\">Siege<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s influence on the hardcore, grindcore and powerviolence scenes is gigantic to say the least. Not until the initial wave of metalcore was Massachusetts such a primordial ooze for aggressive brilliance. The <strong>Kevin Mahoney<\/strong> era of <strong>Siege<\/strong> only lasted from 1981-1985\u2026 there were some small reunions with different singers (including <strong>Seth Putnam<\/strong>) but nothing too notable. Forty years after <em>Drop Dead<\/em> was released, it remains an undisputed underground classic. It feels like this band could\u2019ve made so much great music if they\u2019d survived past the mid-80s.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Siege - Conform\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2aKropBUxEM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Few bands that formed in the 2010s have a cult following like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/glass-cloud\">Glass Cloud<\/a><\/strong>. Masters of catchy, djenty metalcore, <strong>Glass Cloud<\/strong> were about 10 years ahead of their time with their sole full-length, <em>The Royal Thousand<\/em>. No doubt they\u2019d be on top of the melodic metalcore world if they\u2019d stayed together, rubbing elbows with <strong>Spiritbox<\/strong> and <strong>Bad Omens<\/strong>. Come home, boys.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Glass Cloud &quot;Ivy &amp; Wine&quot; (Live Video)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tmwcT7pjfKM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>You can\u2019t really complain about the dissolution of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/hellhammer\">Hellhammer<\/a><\/strong> in 1984, because we got <strong>Celtic Frost<\/strong> and <strong>Triptykon<\/strong> out of it. You can hear why <strong>Hellhammer<\/strong> wasn\u2019t widely liked in their day \u2014 too punky and raw for heavy metal fans and too heavy metal for punk and hardcore fans. <strong>Hellhammer<\/strong>\u2019s proto-black metal has stood the test of time, though. How about a 40th anniversary gig for <em>Apocalyptic Raids<\/em>?<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Messiah\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gBPvmrZChOg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>How do you pioneer deathcore then fuck off forever? The members of <strong>Deadwater Drowning<\/strong>, which existed from 2002-2004, ended up joining bands like <strong>The Acacia Strain<\/strong> and <strong>The Red Chord<\/strong>, but <strong>Deadwater Drowning<\/strong>\u2019s one EP proved just as influential in the New England scene. You can only imagine this band\u2019s shine if they\u2019d recorded more than five songs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Sleepwalking with a knife\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mu62YHajc-Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>This has to be the peak of death-doom, right? The atmosphere of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/disembowelment\">diSEMBOWELMENT<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s <em>Transcendence Into the Peripheral<\/em> simply supersedes <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/katatonia\">Katatonia<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s <em>Brave Murder Day <\/em>and even <strong>Paradise Lost<\/strong>\u2019s <em>Lost Paradise<\/em>. You just won\u2019t find an early death-doom album that\u2019s more perfectly in-the-pocket. How this short-lived &#8217;90s band came from Australia is an absolute mystery.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"dISEMBOWELMENT - Transcendence Into The Peripheral [FULL ALBUM STREAM]\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CeKvlLswXxw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Was <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/beecher\">Beecher<\/a><\/strong>\u2019s style too fluid to define a scene? England\u2019s answer to New England\u2019s metalcore scene, <strong>Beecher<\/strong> brought a sense of post-hardcore to mathcore and metalcore that didn\u2019t properly flourish until years after they released 2003\u2019s <em>Breaking the Fourth Wall<\/em>. The mathy band was seemingly one step away from <strong>Protest the Hero<\/strong>\u2019s <em>Fortress<\/em> or <strong>Every Time I Die<\/strong>\u2019s <em>New Junk Aesthetic<\/em>, but went in a more <strong>Dillinger<\/strong> direction with 2005\u2019s <em>This Elegy, His Autopsy<\/em>. Come 2006, they were dunzo.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Dead For Weeks\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EIvmM0X-k5Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>A pioneer in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, <strong>A II Z<\/strong> only release one album\u2026 and it\u2019s a live album. That\u2019s right, they made a live album before hitting the fucking studio. Makes absolutely no sense, but <em>The Witch of Berkeley<\/em> is pretty awesome anyway. It\u2019s got enough <strong>Mot\u00f6rhead<\/strong> attitude and classic rock grooves to keep the heavy metal fan satiated, and some truly epic bass work from <strong>Cam Campbell<\/strong>. They broke up in 1982, long before computer keyboards revealed how annoying their band name is to type!<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"No Fun After Midnight - A II Z\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8JH9jXSvCJM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>Arch Enemy<\/strong> is great and all, but <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/carnage\">Carnage<\/a><\/strong> is just so filthy and gross. Formed by <strong>Michael Amott<\/strong> and <strong>Johan Liiva<\/strong>, <strong>Carnage<\/strong> sounds way more like <strong>Dismember<\/strong> than <strong>Arch Enemy<\/strong>, but with that perfect Swedish Boss pedal tone. Carnage made one killer full-length, <em>Dark Recollections<\/em>, which basically came out right when the band broke up in the early \u201890s. It\u2019d be epic to hear this album live, but don\u2019t count on it.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Carnage- Torn Apart\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YP-UAA_RiWA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>This Finnish export was the only band crazy enough to make funeral doom that sounds like <strong>The Doors<\/strong>. <em>Stream From the Heavens<\/em> is one of the most inexplicable metal albums ever, and so unpredictable for a funeral doom record. The mix between gargling gutturals, clean chants, \u201860s keyboards, sloth-peddled riffs and cosmic background noise is just so weird. This band only existed from 1990-1993, but they\u2019d likely be as big as <strong>Skepticism<\/strong> if they&#8217;d stuck around.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Who Rides The Astral Wings\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3lVoqK-awwg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"zox-post-body left zoxrel zox100\">\n<h5>Want More Metal?
