Nine Inch Nails<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 not Trent Reznor<\/strong> and Atticus Ross<\/strong> as they’re usually billed when it comes to soundtracks \u2013 will score Disney’s new movie Tron: Ares<\/em>. The unveil happened at last night’s D23 Disney fan convention with a whole buncha lasers shot directly onto a screen. As far as announcements go, it was pretty damn cool!<\/p>\n It’ll be interesting to see how this differs from Reznor<\/strong> and Ross<\/strong>‘ usual efforts, as again \u2013 it’s almost always their names on scores for movies and documentaries, not Nine Inch Nails<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n This also lends credence to Nine Inch Nails<\/a><\/strong>‘ seemingly impending return. In a recent interview with GQ<\/em><\/a>, Reznor<\/strong> and Ross<\/strong> said a new Nine Inch Nails<\/a><\/strong> record should be a nice change of pace from the duo’s recent string of movie soundtracks.<\/p>\n Ross<\/strong> said at the time: “I do feel excited about starting on the next record. I think we’re in a place now where we kind of have an idea.” Reznor<\/strong> added that putting the band down for a little while “managed to make Nine Inch Nails<\/a><\/strong> feel way more exciting than it had been in the past few years. I’d kind of let it atrophy a bit in my mind for a variety of reasons.”<\/p>\n
