Defeated Sanity<\/a><\/strong> is back for the first time in four years with a new single “The Odour Of Sanctity” and a new record Chronicles Of Lunacy<\/em> out November 22 on Season of Mist. If you’ve been missing all that slamming death metal that Defeated Sanity<\/a><\/strong> is known for, then you’re gonna love this single.<\/p>\n “The last few DS<\/a><\/strong> albums leaned heavily on the proggier side of our sound”, said Defeated Sanity<\/a><\/strong> drummer and founding member Lille Gruber<\/strong>. “We still like to experiment, but on our new album, we wanted to get back to the raw slamming that our fans love about Psalms of the Moribund<\/em> or Chapters of Repugnance<\/em>.”<\/p>\n On the single itself, Defeated Sanity<\/a><\/strong> offered: “It’s freaky but also unrelentingly brutal, which represents the crossroad that we ended up at on Chronicles of Lunacy<\/em>. Even though the album can get pretty fucking weird, there’s still a emphasis on straight-up slamming.”<\/p>\n The video for “The Odour of Sanctity” was created by Obscenery Films.
