A Wonderful World\u00a0<\/em>is produced by\u00a0Thomas E. Rodgers, Jr.<\/strong>,\u00a0Renee Delaplaine Rodgers<\/strong>,\u00a0Martian Entertainment<\/strong>\u00a0(Carl D. White<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Gregory Rae<\/strong>) and\u00a0Vanessa Williams<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0Liz Curtis<\/strong>, and\u00a0Remmel T. Dickinson.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tony Award winner\u00a0James Monroe Iglehart<\/strong>\u00a0(Broadway:\u00a0Aladdin<\/em>,\u00a0Hamilton<\/em>) will recreate\u00a0his critically acclaimed performance as Louis Armstrong.\u00a0Last fall, Iglehart starred in the pre-Broadway production of\u00a0A Wonderful World\u00a0<\/em>in New Orleans and Chicago, where he won rave reviews. The Chicago Tribune called him \u201cjust fabulous! \u2013 a knockout Louis Armstrong.\u201d The Chicago Sun-Times cheered, \u201cJames Monroe Iglehart gives a phenomenal, dynamic and vivacious lead performance as the wondrous Louis Armstrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Louis Armstrong\u2019s innovative musicianship and incredible charisma as trumpeter and vocalist would lead him from the early days of jazz in his native New Orleans to five decades of international stardom.\u00a0A Wonderful World<\/em>\u00a0tells the story of Armstrong\u2019s blazing musical career. The musical features beloved songs he recorded and made popular, including \u201cWhat a Wonderful World\u201d and \u201cWhen You\u2019re Smiling,\u201d among many other favorites.

With a book by\u00a0Aurin Squire<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cThis Is Us,\u201d \u201cThe Good Fight\u201d) and featuring songs made famous by Louis Armstrong,\u00a0A Wonderful World<\/em>\u00a0is co-conceived by\u00a0Andrew Delaplaine\u00a0<\/strong>and Drama Desk Award winner and Tony Award nominee\u00a0Christopher Renshaw<\/strong>\u00a0(The King and I<\/em>,\u00a0Taboo<\/em>), who also directs the production.<\/p>\n

A Wonderful World<\/em>\u00a0is being presented in association with\u00a0Roundabout Theatre Company<\/strong>\u00a0and will be included in Roundabout\u2019s subscription packages.<\/p>\n

Miami New Drama<\/strong>\u00a0(Artistic Director\u00a0Michel Hausmann<\/strong>; Managing Director\u00a0Nicholas Richberg<\/strong>) presented the World Premiere <\/a>production of A Wonderful World on December 11, 2021 at the Colony Theatre in Miami Beach, FL.<\/p>\n
