Grave<\/a><\/strong> split with bassist Tobias Cristiansson<\/strong> and guitarist Mika Lagr\u00e9n<\/strong><\/a> earlier this year, leaving frontman Ola Lindgren<\/strong> and drummer Tomas Lagr\u00e9n<\/strong> as the only members of the group. Lindgren<\/strong> stated at the time that Grave<\/a><\/strong> would attempt to reconfigure themselves, but made no promises.<\/p>\n Then earlier this month, Lindgren<\/strong> announced that Grave<\/a><\/strong> would be rejoined by drummer Jensa Paulsson<\/strong> who originally played for Grave<\/a><\/strong> between 1988 and 2002; bassist Jonas Torndal<\/strong> who originally played for Grave<\/a><\/strong> between 1989 and 1992; and guitarist and vocalist J\u00f6rgen Sandstr\u00f6m<\/strong>, who originally played for Grave<\/a><\/strong> between 1988 and 1995.<\/p>\n And while this is all great news, Lindgren<\/strong> has since issued a statement saying that there are no plans for new material or extensive touring, and that the last iteration of Grave<\/a><\/strong> isn’t definitively dead. <\/p>\n “Many thanks to all of you who commented on last weeks announcement and who are as excited about this as we are. Lets bring some clarity to what this ‘reunion’ is about,” wrote Lindgren<\/strong>.<\/p>\n “So early this year I was approached by the other 3 original members for a meeting. It resulted in the plan to do a couple of rehearsals for fun to see if we were first of all capable and also of course if we enjoyed jamming again.<\/p>\n “I would say that playing together after all these decades went far beyond anyone’s expectations so we decided to try get some shows booked and here we are.<\/p>\n “This is initially a plan for festival shows during 2025. At the moment there are no plans to do any touring or recording new material with this lineup but who knows where this might lead us\u2026<\/p>\n “The Grave<\/a><\/strong> that imploded last year is not dead and buried, it is simply put on ice.
Tomas<\/strong> is definitely not fired from the band and it will be his decision if he wants to be a part of any future Grave<\/a><\/strong> endevours when that time comes.”<\/p>\n
