In a recent interview with Metal Hammer<\/a><\/em>, Anthrax<\/a><\/strong> members Charlie Benante<\/strong> and Scott Ian<\/strong> provided updates on the band’s highly anticipated album, which will be their first since 2016’s For All Kings<\/em>.<\/p>\n Benante<\/strong> shared insights into the creative process, revealing that “there’s a song which has the same kind of epic feel as ‘In The End’ [from 2011’s Worship Music<\/em>] and ‘Blood Eagle Wings’ [from For All Kings<\/em>].” He described it as being deeply reflective of the band’s journey over the years: \u201cIt revolves around the journey we\u2019ve been on in the band.\u201d<\/p>\n Notably, he also mentioned three new tracks that are breaking new ground for the band, characterized by a unique blend of melody, chords, and underlying aggression: \u201cAnd there are three songs that don\u2019t sound like anything we\u2019ve done before. One called\u00a0\u2018The Edge Of Perfection\u2019 I had way before Covid, and it has just stayed with me \u2013 the melody and the chords, but also the aggression.\u201d<\/p>\n Scott Ian<\/strong> further commented on the album’s status, noting: \u201cNone of the songs are actually finished-finished. Joey<\/strong>\u2019s (Belladonna<\/strong>, vocalist) sang on nine of them. I\u2019ve got lyrics to write for four of them. I think all the songs will be good enough to come out in some way, shape or form.\u201d<\/p>\n Ian<\/strong> also touched upon the inspiring experience of recording the album at Dave Grohl<\/strong>\u2019s Studio 606: \u201cIt\u2019s a bit of a Foo Fighters<\/a><\/strong> and Nirvana<\/a><\/strong> museum, but it\u2019s awesome. It\u2019s like being in the most rock clubhouse ever, but it\u2019s also inspiring being surrounded by the success of somebody who has only ever done it \u2019cos he fucking loves to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
