Metallica<\/a><\/strong> has paid tribute to a man named Lorne<\/strong> (nicknamed “Viking<\/strong>“) who tragically passed away during their August 23 show at the Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, AB.<\/p>\n “Friday night, August 23rd<\/sup>, in Edmonton we lost a Metallica<\/a><\/strong> family member at the show,” wrote Metallica<\/a><\/strong> on their social media. “He died due to health conditions. Leaving the earthly body and onto the next adventure. Very sad when death happens, but we’re touched that he spent some of his final, hopefully joyful, time with us.<\/p>\n “Our condolences to the family and friends of Lorne<\/strong> ‘Viking<\/strong>.’ With Love and Respect, Metallica<\/a><\/strong>.”<\/p>\n A fried of Lorne<\/strong>‘s named Erika Oldale<\/strong> also posted on the M72 World Tour 2023\/2024 (Metallica)<\/em> Facebook group page<\/a> on August 27, elaborating that he was taken out of the snake pit area on a stretcher and sadly did not make it. We extend our condolences to Lorne’s friends and family at this time.<\/p>\n “Edmonton concert on Friday night, my friend Lorne<\/strong> suffered a medical issue and was taken out of the snake pit on a stretcher while EMS did aggressive CPR. Despite all their efforts, Lorne<\/strong> did not survive. Seeing the outpouring of concern and well wishes makes us that were blessed to call him friend feel a little less lost and alone.<\/p>\n “Thank you to the concert goers for that. He was the kindest soul. We all called him Viking<\/strong>. He will be missed terribly!! Please crank up a Metallica<\/a><\/strong> song, and raise a glass for the Viking<\/strong>!!
