Jerry Cantrell<\/a><\/strong> is back with his second solo single of the year “Afterglow”, and it’s fairly hard turn from the much heavier “Villified”<\/a>. The singles come from Cantrell<\/a><\/strong>‘s new solo album I Want Blood,<\/em>\u00a0dropping this October 18 via Double J Music<\/p>\n “The incredible Matt Mahurin<\/strong> and I created a moving piece of film to accompany the song,” said Cantrell<\/a><\/strong> of the song and video. “Check it out. If you want blood, you got it.”<\/p>\n Mahurin<\/strong> added: “Two of my all-time favorite videos I’ve directed are ‘No Excuses’ and ‘Angry Chair’ for Alice In Chains<\/a><\/strong> in the early 1990’s. To be able to once again offer my visual work to Jerry<\/a><\/strong>‘s ‘Afterglow’ some thirty years later was a blast. From opera aria to pop tune, everybody sees a movie playing in their mind’s eye when they listen to a song. Jerry<\/a><\/strong> inspired a welcome fever dream that I was grateful to lure out of my mind’s eye.”<\/p>\n I Want Blood <\/em>features contributions from bass heavyweights Duff McKagan<\/strong> (Guns N\u2019 Roses<\/a><\/strong>) and Robert Trujillo<\/strong> (Metallica<\/a><\/strong>), drummers Gil Sharone<\/strong> (Team Sleep<\/strong>, Stolen Babies<\/strong>) and Mike Bordin<\/strong> (Faith No More<\/a><\/strong>), and backing vocals from Lola Colette<\/strong> and Greg Puciato<\/strong> (Better Lovers<\/strong>, ex-Dillinger Escape Plan<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n Pre-orders are available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
