The Crown<\/a><\/strong> is trading furious speed for a beefier groove on their latest single “Gone To Hell”\u2026 unlike that first track<\/a>. The single comes alongside a music video by Anton Hallenberg<\/strong> and Robin Schulz<\/strong>, and is from The Crown<\/a><\/strong>‘s new record Crown Of Thorns<\/em>, due out October 11.<\/p>\n Crown Of Thorns<\/em> is named after The Crown<\/a><\/strong>‘s original band name before it got changed in 1998, and is the first to feature new bassist Mattias “Arvid” Rasmussen<\/strong> and new drummer Mikael Nor\u00e9n<\/strong>. Crown Of Thorns<\/em> is also The Crown<\/a><\/strong>‘s first album since 2010 to feature guitarist Marcus Sunesson<\/strong>, who left the band in 2012.<\/p>\n “‘Gone To Hell’ is a very special song in many ways,” said The Crown<\/a><\/strong> guitarist Marko Tervonen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n “As you may have seen on our older albums, there are quite a few songs where the music is by ‘Olsfelt<\/strong>\/Tervonen<\/strong>‘ [referring to former bassist Magnus Olsfelt<\/strong>]. But that doesn’t actually mean that we wrote the song together. It was more about Magnus<\/strong> ‘stealing’ some riffs from me from songs that never made it to the albums. So he nicked the best stuff and included them into his songs.<\/p>\n “But ‘Gone To Hell’ was the first time we wrote something together. Magnus showed me the basic riffs to the song, on bass. We recorded it to a metronome and then I sort of ‘took over.’ I added the melodies, arranged it, wrote the drums and vocals etc. So, it was actually the only song we ever worked on together before he left the band.<\/p>\n “The song is more mid-tempo oriented; it almost has some post-punk elements to it. I personally love it and I’m super proud of it.
