Vltimas<\/a><\/strong> is slowing things down a bit with their new single “Invictus”, though the word “slow” is subjective. It’s slow in Vltimas<\/a><\/strong>‘ world, midpaced in everyone else’s \u2013 and yet it’s still a crusher.<\/p>\n Vltimas<\/a><\/strong> features guitarists Rune “Blasphemer” Eriksen<\/strong> (ex-Mayhem<\/a><\/strong>, Aura Noir<\/a><\/strong>) and Jo\u00e3o Duarte<\/strong> (Corpus Christii<\/strong>), vocalist David Vincent<\/strong> (ex-Morbid Angel<\/a><\/strong>), drummer Flo Mounier<\/strong> (Cryptopsy<\/a><\/strong>), and bassist Ype TVS<\/strong> (ex-Dodecahedron<\/a><\/strong>). Vltimas<\/a><\/strong> will release their long-awaited sophomore effort Epic<\/em> on March 15, which feels like an appropriate title given the singles thus far.<\/p>\n Epic<\/em> was recorded by producer Jaime Gomez Arellano<\/strong> (Paradise Lost<\/a><\/strong>, Grave Miasma<\/a><\/strong>) with engineer Jonathan Mazzeo<\/strong> (First Fragment<\/strong>, Sickening<\/strong>) at Arda Recorders in Porto, Portugal, and was mixed and mastered by Arellano<\/strong> also handled the mix and master.
