The past year has been a contentious one between Mick Mars<\/a><\/strong> and his former M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce<\/a><\/strong> bandmates. Mars<\/strong> filed a lawsuit against M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce<\/strong><\/a> in April 2023, which has so far been going in Mars<\/strong>‘ favor<\/a> (despite getting pretty nasty in the public eye<\/a>).<\/p>\n Mars<\/a><\/strong> also revealed that he’s since sold his publishing rights to M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce<\/strong>‘s music<\/a>, but noted in the same interview that he’s heartbroken over the whole situation. And how could he not be? Lawsuits and everything aside, Mick Mars<\/a><\/strong> and M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce<\/a><\/strong> still spent roughly four decades together. Which is why it’s not too surprising that, given all that’s happened, Mars<\/a><\/strong> is still down to write songs for M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n In an interview with Audacy Check In<\/em>, Mars<\/a><\/strong> said being in M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce<\/a><\/strong> delayed his solo album for quite some time, but he’d still write with his former bandmates.<\/p>\n “Well, it took me 40 years ’cause M\u00f6tley<\/a><\/strong> was priority\u2026 and now that I’m retired, I’m just me,” said Mars<\/a><\/strong>. “I mean, if M\u00f6tley<\/a><\/strong> wanted me to write songs with them again, of course I would\u2026 But right now, I’m just me, so I’m writing, and it’s not M\u00f6tley<\/a><\/strong>, and it’s how I feel \u2014 my ideas and my kind of thing and kind of trying to reinvent myself or bring myself up to date.”<\/p>\n So who knows if that’ll happen. M\u00f6tley Cr\u00fce<\/a><\/strong> currently has some new music on the way with John 5<\/a><\/strong>, and Mars<\/a><\/strong> has his head down working on new solo material. But it’d be nice if Mars<\/a><\/strong> and Cr\u00fce<\/a><\/strong> could maybe get together one last time and crank out something classic, yeah?<\/p>\n \n
