The otherworldly talent <a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/pantera\"><strong>Pantera<\/strong><\/a> possessed wasn&#8217;t truly unleashed until they stopped chasing trends and forged their own sound, mixing groove-centric metal with crushing brutality and Southern flair. The band&#8217;s deathcore beginnings brought them a dedicated following, but never promised to elevate <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/bring-me-the-horizon\">Bring Me the Horizon<\/a><\/strong> into a generational band. The release of <em>Sempiternal<\/em> in 2013 brought <strong>Bring Me<\/strong> massive acclaim for their blend of metalcore, post-hardcore and electronic elements, while the pop-centric <em>Amo<\/em> gave <strong><strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/bring-me-the-horizon\">Bring Me the Horizon<\/a><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> their first No. 1 album in the UK. The blasphemy remains in <strong>Nergal<\/strong>&#8216;s work, but in an entirely different genre.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Me And That Man - Cross My Heart And Hope To Die (Official Video)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NOZe8Ubfa3w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/baroness\">Baroness<\/a><\/strong> started off in the Georgia sludge scene with their filthy and progressive <em>Red Album<\/em>, but as the act moved their way through the rainbow, they became almost their own genre. <em>Yellow &amp; Green<\/em> was a masterpiece of cathartic indie-influenced rock, while <em>Gold &amp; Grey<\/em> was almost spacey and psychedelic. No band sheds skin (and the expectations of genre) as well as <strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/baroness\">Baroness<\/a><\/strong><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"BARONESS - Borderlines [OFFICIAL]\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tQX_oVVORFU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Rapper <strong>ZillaKami<\/strong> found his start in music by ghostwriting hip-hop for <strong>6ix9ine<\/strong>, but when he formed <strong>City Morgue<\/strong> with fellow New York rapper <strong>SosMula<\/strong>, <strong>Zilla<\/strong> became a pioneer for a genre that would become known as trap metal. After combining hip-hop, hardcore punk, metal and industrial with <strong>City Morgue<\/strong>, <strong>Zilla<\/strong> switched it up again with his <em>Dog Boy<\/em> album, creating music inspired by the &#8217;90s grunge wave.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"ZillaKami - NOT WORTH IT (Official Music Video)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iaiPgyWPFTA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Whether you&#8217;re into <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/black-sabbath\">Black Sabbath<\/a><\/strong> or Broadway, there&#8217;s probably a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/ghost\">Ghost<\/a><\/strong> album for you. The Swedish act is almost unrecognizable when comparing the &#8217;70s occult metal <em>Opus Eponymous<\/em> to the &#8217;80s arena rock <em>Impera<\/em>, but every step along the way has proved to be a massive success for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/tobias-forge\">Tobias Forge<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s now-iconic project.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"The Evolution of Ghost 2010 - 2022\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ArBRo3MVJRU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>People forget how much <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/meshuggah\">Meshuggah<\/a><\/strong> have changed since their debut album, <em>Contradictions Collapse<\/em>. The band started off as a mix of alternative metal and thrash with <strong>James Hetfield<\/strong>-style vocals before becoming metal&#8217;s most extreme djent machine. When <strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/meshuggah\">Meshuggah<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> made the change, they were ultimately 20 years ahead of their time, inspiring countless acts while pushing metal into insane new directions.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Meshuggah Music Evolution (1989 - 2016)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kIO9CM75rjo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Many of the <strong>Maynard James Keenan<\/strong> faithful expected to hear something like <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/tool\">Tool<\/a><\/strong> or <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/a-perfect-circle\">A Perfect Circle<\/a><\/strong> alt-metal when <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/puscifer\">Puscifer<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s <em>V Is for Vagina<\/em> dropped in 2007, only to find a bizarre trip hop project. It was <em>Conditions of My Parole<\/em> and <em>Money Shot<\/em>, however, that expanded <strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/puscifer\">Puscifer<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> into an etherial, post-industrial powerhouse.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Puscifer  - &quot;Grand Canyon&quot; (Official Video)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qtZJiQSmJ9g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Maybe it&#8217;s not entirely a genre switch, but <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/steel-panther\">Steel Panther<\/a><\/strong> hit big when they morphed from a cover band jamming &#8217;80s classics on the Sunset Strip to a comedic glam act making their own original music. <em>Feel the Steel<\/em> had no right to be as hilarious as it was, and it&#8217;s because the album was so damn excessive that it perfectly parodied the bands that inspired it. Well done, boys.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Steel Panther - Fat Girl\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x67jtMPfdTw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>This may be somewhat controversial, since the majority of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/opeth\">Opeth<\/a><\/strong> faithful tend to prefer the <em>Blackwater Park<\/em> era over the <em>Heritage<\/em> era. But c&#8217;mon everyone, you know <em>Pale Communion<\/em> and <em>Sorceress<\/em> slap! It&#8217;s been 15 years since <strong>Mikael \u00c5kerfeldt <\/strong>screamed on an <strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/opeth\">Opeth<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> record, but the band&#8217;s success hasn&#8217;t faded at all.
