Pain<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 the project headed up by Peter T\u00e4gtgren<\/strong> \u2013 has announced their first new record eight years I Am<\/em> due out May 17. Pain<\/a><\/strong> is now streaming “Go With The Flow” alongside a music video featuring actor Peter Stormare<\/strong> (Fargo<\/em>, Prison Break<\/em>, The Big Lebowski<\/em>) and T\u00e4gtgren<\/strong> himself.<\/p>\n “Go with the flow takes me back to 80’s synth pop,” said T\u00e4gtgren<\/strong>. “Writing in more of that direction was an idea that I had for a while, so I started taking out analog synths and going crazy, and of course I needed to come back to a catchy Pain<\/a><\/strong> chorus. The hardest part was to write lyrics to the song, and to figure out what style to use to sing\u2026 the lyrics are about me always being negative and needing to let things go when things don’t go as planned and to brush it off and move on.”<\/p>\n Pre-orders for I Am<\/em> are available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n On the past eight years and the comeback of Pain<\/a><\/strong>, T\u00e4gtgren<\/strong> elaborates: “The previous record Coming Home<\/em> came out in 2016 \u2013 and of course there was a tour after that. In 2019, I released an album called F & M <\/em>with Rammstein<\/a><\/strong> singer Till Lindemann<\/strong>, a project I left in 2020. In 2021, it was time for my death metal band Hypocrisy<\/a><\/strong> to get active with a new album Worship<\/em> \u2013 and of course we toured again. If that wasn’t enough, let’s add that there was a studio album with Joe Lynn Turner<\/strong> in 2022\u2026 In other words: the last eight years have passed in the blink of an eye.<\/p>\n “After all this, it was the perfect time for Pain<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> to go full force again. I felt excited to say the least. Needless to say, the success of [the 2022 single] ‘Party in My Head’ gave the album process an explosive start!”<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
