Founding Slipknot<\/strong> vocalist Anders Colsefni<\/strong> has teamed up with n\u00fc-revival band Kaosis<\/a><\/strong> for a brand new version of Slipknot<\/a><\/strong>‘s 1996 debut (or demo, depending on who you ask) Mate. Feed. Kill Repeat.<\/em><\/p>\n The re-recording isn’t too surprising given Colsefni<\/strong> recently toured Australia to play the whole album in full<\/a>, but did we really need a new version of Mate. Feed. Kill Repeat<\/em>. nearly 30 years later? Again, the performances from Kaosis<\/strong> on it are fine and Colsefni<\/strong>‘s vocals aren’t bad, but Mate. Feed. Kill Repeat<\/em>. certainly feels like an afterthought in Slipknot<\/a><\/strong>‘s discography. Doubly so now that Colsefni<\/strong> could be working on new Painface<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n “This record is dedicated to [late Slipknot members] Joey<\/strong> [Jordison<\/strong>] and Paul<\/strong> [Gray<\/strong>], my eternal brothers,” said Colsefni<\/strong> in a statement to Blabbermouth<\/a><\/em>. “This project completes their legacy for the original Crowz<\/strong>. This important part of their heritage can now be heard by the Maggot generation of the ‘Knot<\/a><\/strong> family. I miss them both deeply every day and I hope that this tribute to them honors their memory and our ever-lasting friendship. Long live the ‘Knot<\/a><\/strong>.”<\/p>\n Colsefni<\/strong> sang on 1996’s Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.<\/em> and ultimately left the band in 1997. Slipknot<\/a><\/strong> founder and percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan<\/strong> also recently set the record straight, saying Colsefni<\/strong> is a founding member of the band<\/a> despite public perception saying otherwise.<\/p>\n As for his future, Colsefni<\/strong> said in a recent interview with Kaosis<\/strong><\/a> frontman Xen<\/strong> that he’d be down to collaborate with Slipknot<\/a><\/strong> on something. When asked if he’d answer the call from Slipknot<\/a><\/strong>, Colsefni<\/strong> responded “Yeah, absolutely. If they contacted me and wanted me to do something, yeah, why not?” So who knows \u2013 maybe this re-recording is a warm-up for a Colsefni<\/strong> guest spot on the new Slipknot<\/strong> material<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n
