The Crow<\/em> reboot is due out June 7 and whoever is in charge of the soundtrack better not screw it up, because the original soundtracks were fantastic. The original 1994 soundtrack for The Crow<\/em> featured (among others):<\/p>\n Then there’s the sequel’s soundtrack from The Crow: City Of Angels<\/em> in 1996, which was also incredible. That one featured in part:<\/p>\n The Crow: Salvation<\/em> in 2000 was no slouch either as it featured Danzig<\/a><\/strong>, Filter<\/a><\/strong>, Rob Zombie<\/a><\/strong>, Pitchshifter<\/strong>, Static-X<\/a><\/strong>, Monster Magnet<\/a><\/strong>, and you get the idea. The Crow<\/em> was pushing great metal through its soundtracks, if not touching on the underground in a significant way \u2013 Korn<\/a><\/strong> and Deftones<\/a><\/strong> in 1996 was a gamble.<\/p>\n Now we’ve got The Crow<\/em> reboot starring Bill Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/strong>, FKA twigs<\/strong>, and Danny Huston<\/strong>. The first trailer is streaming below and it’s got the 2019 Post Malone<\/a><\/strong> track “Take What You Want” featuring Ozzy Osbourne<\/a><\/strong> and Travis Scott<\/strong>. Which isn’t the worst, but given the massive surge of n\u00fc-metal reunions and new-n\u00fc bands, it’s surprising the trailer didn’t dip into that more. Doubly so given the plethora of excellent industrial bands out there (Ministry<\/a><\/strong> is on the way out \u2013 why not get a farewell track?).<\/p>\n I guess we’ll see what happens. But man, here’s hoping The Crow<\/em> in 2024 has a genuinely good, heavy soundtrack that includes some neat covers and maybe even breaks a new band. Or at the very least does Brandon Lee<\/strong>‘s memory a service.<\/p>\n \n\n
