Abrams<\/a><\/strong> has signed to Blues Funeral Recordings and is set to release their new record Blue City<\/em> on May 24. The band is now streaming the debut single “Fire Waltz” alongside a music video directed by Alex Pace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n “I didn’t think this song would make the record, yet it turned out really great in the studio, with some of my favorite guitar tones on the album,” said Abrams<\/a><\/strong> guitarist and vocalist Zachary Amster<\/strong>. “The second verse is a standout to me, with its ethereal trippy guitar lead and memorable vocal melody singing ‘haunted idols’. When we added this to the song, it definitely made it a game-changer. Additionally, the rock-out jam in the odd time signature of 5 is a fun part to play!”<\/p>\n Blue City<\/em> was recorded and produced by Kurt Ballou<\/strong> (Converge<\/a><\/strong>, High On Fire<\/a><\/strong>, Torche<\/a><\/strong>, Chelsea Wolfe<\/a><\/strong>) at GodCity Studio. On the record, Amster<\/strong> commented: “The songs on Blue City<\/em> deal with the feeling of being trapped in a place of comfort and normality.<\/p>\n “Where we may really want to pack up and try anything new; but the scare of change is holding us back for what is known as routine. The blue city is a metaphor, for this is a cold but familiar place that keeps us imprisoned from any drastically new experience.
