Steve Vai<\/a><\/strong>, Adrian Belew<\/strong>, Tony Levin<\/strong>, and Tool<\/a><\/strong>‘s drumming maestro Danny Carey <\/strong>have joined forces to create a new supergroup, aptly named Beat<\/strong>. But what’s truly mind-blowing? They’re set to resurrect the iconic sounds of King Crimson<\/a><\/strong>, under the guidance of none other than Robert Fripp<\/strong> himself.<\/p>\n Fripp<\/strong> announced his enthusiastic support for the project on his Facebook page, revealing he even suggested the band’s name: “This is the project that Adrian Belew<\/strong> called me about last Autumn. A project that I support and fully encourage, and discussed with Steve Vai<\/a><\/strong><\/strong> recently at McCabes in Santa Monica (March 3, 2024). Even, I suggested the name.”<\/p>\n This isn’t entirely out of the blue. In a recent interview with Ultimate Guitar<\/em>‘s “On the Record”\u00a0podcast, Vai<\/a><\/strong> hinted at a mysterious project coming up in the fall, mentioning the difficulty of learning the music. <\/p>\n “Personally, it’s gonna take me all summer to get this music under my fingers because the guitar player that played in this band was a complete beast, an absolute animal, and very difficult parts.”<\/p>\n Considering his comments and the caliber of musicians involved, the pieces now perfectly fit the puzzle: a tribute to the complex and challenging works of King Crimson<\/a><\/strong>.
