They opened many eyes with their debut record back in 2020 entitled <em>Hollow<\/em>, which featured a wealth of guest collaborators including those from bands <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/my-dying-bride\">My Dying Bride<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/moonspell\">Moonspell<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/rotting-christ\">Rotting Christ<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/septicflesh\">Septicflesh<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/paradise-lost\">Paradise Lost<\/a><\/strong>, and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/arch-enemy\">Arch Enemy<\/a><\/strong>. Now, four years later this doom\/goth metal band from the Middle East is back with a powerful follow-up, which, by the way, also has an all-star cast of guest musicians.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ovdan<\/em> (Loss in Hebrew) almost didn&#8217;t happen as vocalist <strong>Yishai Sweartz<\/strong> was rushed to hospital on March 12, 2023. Turns out he experienced a severe heart attack and had to go through open heart surgery. After weeks in intensive care and months in recover and rehab, <strong>Sweartz<\/strong> was able to rejoin the band and put the final touches on the new record.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Tomorrow&#039;s Rain - Muaka feat. Attila of Mayhem\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gmdH1C34P2s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The record&#8217;s opener, &#8220;Roads,&#8221; is grim, heavy and unique. Touches of horns here and there add texture and appearances from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/dark-funeral\">Dark Funeral<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Andrea Vingback<\/strong> aka <strong>Heljarmadr<\/strong> and <strong>Tony Wakeford<\/strong> from <strong>Sol Invictus<\/strong> add much to the composition. Same with &#8220;Muaka,&#8221; which has <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/mayhem\">Mayhem<\/a><\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Attila Csihar<\/strong> on lead vocals in a stellar performance on an unmistakably grim track. &#8220;Muaka&#8221; translates to &#8220;distress&#8221; in English.<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the darkness of &#8220;Roads&#8221; is the accompanying video which shows authentic clips of material from the Hamas invasion, rape and attack on Israel on October 7.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Tomorrow&#039;s Rain - Roads feat. Heljarmadr of Dark Funeral &amp; Tony Wakeford of Sol Invictus\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WmJXTRqO0P4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>Michael Denner<\/strong>, who you remember from <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/metalinjection.net\/tag\/mercyful-fate\">Mercyful Fate<\/a><\/strong>, guests on guitar in &#8220;Turn Around,&#8221; which also features <strong>Ben Christo<\/strong> of <strong>Sisters of Mercy<\/strong>. Certainly a bit of a sonic departure from both of those bands, the track does mix many of the sonic elements of gothic rock with <strong>Yishai<\/strong>&#8216;s more extreme vocals transposed with those that are more traditionally found in the genre.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a standout cut that exemplifies the richness and diversity that&#8217;s found in <strong>Tomorrow&#8217;s Rain<\/strong>. The guitar solo alone is novel and unique enough to spur the listener to a point of contemplation and emotional richness. This is what sets this band apart from so many others in the genre. There&#8217;s an element that really pulls at your gut.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe title=\"Tomorrow&#039;s Rain - Sunrise (Official Music Video)\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dOfaS0KYbgg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong>Tomorrow&#8217;s Rain<\/strong> gives listeners a record of heft with a massive dose of melancholy and sadness. Not an easy record to listen to, but that&#8217;s hardly the point. Self-described &#8220;artists&#8221; and not &#8220;entertainers,&#8221; <strong>Tomorrow&#8217;s Rain<\/strong> is not here to make you feel good.
