Kerry King<\/a><\/strong> will release his long-awaited debut solo album From Hell I Rise<\/em> on May 17, and is now streaming the second single “Residue”. The single comes alongside a music video co-directed by Jim Louvau<\/strong> and his partner Tony Aguilera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n According to Louvau<\/strong>, his concept for the video was simple: “A fiery, bitchin’, heavy fucking metal performance introducing the world to Kerry King<\/a><\/strong>‘s new project and band members. A no bullshit, no prisoners showcase of the band members, performing while engulfed in flames and surrounded by burning pentagrams.”<\/p>\n “I come from a big fire pedigree,” said Kerry King<\/a><\/strong>, “and my music works with fire. I’ve always written horror-type music, so it made sense to incorporate fire into the first video, where you get to see the entire band, which I think is just awesome. I think fire goes hand-in-hand with the devil, and I’m no stranger to talking about the devil.”<\/p>\n Added Louvau<\/strong>: “I knew this would be the first time that the world was going to see the band performing together, so I wanted to create a fast-moving visual assault. Pyrotechnics and Kerry King<\/a><\/strong> clearly go hand in hand and seem to fit like a glove, so Tony and I wanted to create something that felt familiar but also something new and exciting. I also knew I could get away with certain visuals like a burning pentagram.”<\/p>\n Kerry King<\/a><\/strong>‘s new band features Death Angel<\/a><\/strong> vocalist Mark Osegueda<\/strong>, former Slayer<\/a><\/strong> drummer Paul Bostaph<\/strong>, former Vio-Lence<\/a><\/strong> and Machine Head<\/a><\/strong> guitarist Phil Demmel<\/strong>, and former Hellyeah<\/a><\/strong> bassist Kyle Sanders<\/strong>. Kerry King<\/a><\/strong><\/a><\/strong> will release the Josh Wilbur<\/strong>-produced album From Hell I Rise<\/em> on May 17 via Reigning Phoenix Music, and you can pre-order it right here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Kerry King<\/a><\/strong><\/a><\/strong> will hit the road with Lamb Of God<\/a><\/strong> and Mastodon<\/a><\/strong> (who are playing their 2004 albums Ashes Of The Wake<\/em> and Leviathan<\/em> in full), as well as Malevolence<\/a><\/strong>, this July and August.
